Kuala Lumpur international Airport also known as KLIA situated about 70km from Kuala Lumpur city. KLIA has two terminal know as KLIA main terminal and Low Cost Carrier Terminal or LCC Terminal.I am not going to write about the history or the background of KLIA, but here is the brief guide how to do Airport transfer from main terminal KLIA or LCC terminal.
If you flying using premium Airlines such Malaysian Airlines, Emirates Airlines or Singapore Airlines you will landing at Kuala Lumpur International main terminal.
There are few ways to the KLIA Airport main terminal transfer to your Hotel.
1. KLIA Express Train - if you travel alone or couple and staying in Hotel near to the KL Sentral such Le Meridien Hotel, Hilton Hotel, KL Sentral Hotel, this mode of transportation is the best. If you staying in the Hotel situated in the city of Kuala Lumpur then this mode of transportation not practical due you need to take another mode of transportation such Taxi and Monorail to the city. One way ticket prices RM35 per person.
Let calculate the Airport transfer cost using KLIA Express
- 1 person - RM35 + RM20 = RM55
- 2 people - RM70 + RM20 = RM90
2. Taxi - Taxi service in KLIA using a prepaid coupon, you can buy a Taxi coupon at the booth situated at arriving terminal. Make sure you get it before you exit the terminal otherwise you not allow to re enter back to the terminal without boarding pass as a proof. The Airport Taxi service comes with two type
- Budget Taxi - Ticket prices from RM89 - RM100 depends on you Hotel situated in Kuala Lumpur (please take noted, if you bring full cabin crew size luggage, they might ask you to take the Premier Taxi Service.
- Premier Taxi - Ticket prices from RM120 - Rm150
3. Bus Service – bus service available from KLIA main terminal, pick up point from KLIA situated at Bus Station on Ground Level of Block C of the Covered Car Park. The bus will stop at Jalan Duta bus terminal, you need to take a Taxi from the bus terminal to your hotel, Taxi surcharge RM3.00 + actual Taxi fare apply.
Airport transfer from LCC Terminal to Kuala Lumpur City Center
If you using Air Asia service, you will landing at LCC Terminal.
1. Taxi service – RM89 – RM100 depends on your hotel situated in Kuala Lumpur ( please take note if you bring full cabin crew size luggage they might ask you to take a premier taxi service). The ticket booth situated at arriving terminal.
2. Bus service – ticket RM10 one way, the Bus stop situated about 400 meter from arriving terminal. The ticket you can buy it in the Bus.
For traveler on transit flight more than 16 hours, i suggested you stay in the Hotels near to KL Sentral or in the city rather near to the Airport such Tune Hotels, its a bit costly in time and dollar for you to do a tour from the Airport.
The travel time from the Airport to the city center took about 1 hours by Bus or Taxi, KLIA Express Train travel time 25 minutes.
